42nd annual CountryFest

CountryFest Saturday, October 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain or Shine!

Fall in Mount Vernon, Texas means two things: football and CountryFest! Each year on the 2nd Saturday in October
thousands of folks travel from all over to gather at the city square in Mount Vernon and enjoy the largest annual
city-wide event. CountryFest began in 1974 and this year will mark the 42nd annual CountryFest!
 CountryFest Crowds  Shopping - Vendor Booths

Stroll through the myriad of vendor booths offering local, artisan, hand-crafted goods.
More than 100 vendors will fill downtown Mount Vernon. 

 CountryFest Live Enterainment Kid Games - Jousting 

Stay for a while and enjoy live entertainment
by local musicians on the CountryFest Stage
throughout the day. 

   This is a family affair so bring everyone
 and enjoy children’s games, and lots more.
 Car Show 5K Run 
Enter your own vehicle for awards and door prizes,
or stop by and check out the cool rides on display
at the CountryFest Car, Truck, Tractor and
Motorcycle Show.
Come early to join other runners for
the CountryFest 5K race through
the streets of Mount Vernon.
 Rotary pancake breakfast Lester Family Stew  Food  
Enjoy an all you can eat pancake breakfast with the Rotary Club. Sample award winning stew from the
Chamber of Commerce stew cook-off; or try some locally-made tamales and tacos, fresh-smoked barbecue,
homemade root beer by the Boy Scouts, and of course a funnel cake, snow cone or cotton candy to top it all off!

The Mount Vernon Food and Wine Festival will kick off with an evening under the Texas stars at The Harvest on Main. Neighbors and friends will share local food and drink at a long community table in the heart of downtown Mount Vernon.   Saturday will bring The Market on Main with grape to bottle wineries that have seriously fabulous chefs. In addition to wine tastings, guests will have the opportunity to observe some of our state’s most acclaimed chefs during the multiple cooking demonstrations. Our juried vendors will all have a focus in the culinary arts.
The Harvest on Main is an outdoor dining experience in historic downtown Mount Vernon on Houston Street from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016. The intimate, open-air dining experience for 100 lucky people down the center of Houston Street will be catered by Los Pinos Ranch and Vineyard.
The Market on Main  will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October, 22, 2016. Stroll the beautiful plaza while enjoying wine tastings from eight grape to bottle wineries representing many regions of Texas, and shop the carefully curated food and wine related retail vendors. There will be multiple cooking demonstrations throughout the day by our acclaimed chefs to inspire you to try this at home and impress your friends and family.
