The UIL released their realignment information. Mount Vernon ISD got their wish. They moved down to 2A, but got placed into a fairly tough district. They have been placed in 2A, Division I, District 8. In football, the team will face Daingerfield, Hooks, New Boston, Prairiland, Queen City, and Redwater. For the first time in many years, the school will be in a different district for basketball. They will compete in District 15-2A and will face Rivercrest, Clarksville, Cooper, De Kalb, Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill, Paris Chisum, and Prairiland.
