Summer Enrichment for Children - A series of "Summer Enrichment" programs is presented annually in June and July by the Franklin County Library with funding from the Friends of the Library organization. The free programs are designed for children of all ages. Call the Library at 903-537-4916 and watch the Optic-Herald for more information and program changes.

This year’s programs have been set as follows: June 6, Bubble Day, plaza, 10 a.m.; June 10, Petting Zoo, plaza, 10 a.m. to noon; June 12, Pint-Sized Polka, First Baptist Church (FBC) Gym, 3 p.m.; June 16, Summer Children’s Concert, Mount Vernon Music Hall (Leftwich at Yates St.), 2 p.m.; June 27, Miki the Monkey, FBC Gym, 2 p.m.; July 11, Whirled on a String Yoyo program, FBC Gym, 2 p.m.; July 18, Brett Roberts "Flakenstein Science," FBC Gym, 2 p.m.; July 25, Ice Cream Sundae Bar, plaza, 10 a.m.; and Aug. 1, National Watermelon Day, plaza, 10 a.m.
