Oct. 26-27 – Third Annual Wine in the Pines

Wineries flaunt their wares in a pleasant relaxed atmosphere of the downtown Mount Vernon Plaza Friday evening 5-9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to about 5 p.m. Saturday.  This Fall 16 Texas wineries will be participating.

This year, the event will register other vendors crafts, fine arts, culunary and wine related items, etc. These vendor booths will be located around the base of the plaza and as needed along curbside on the east and north side of the square. Registered patrons of the wine tasting are permitted to carry their tastings throughout the downtown area during the event.

There are free Farmers Market booths open to local area agriculture producers in an area west of the courthouse.

This is the third annual Wine in the Pines wine tasting event, and is now sponsored by the Mount Vernon Main Street Alliance.  The event is conducted annually on the fourth Saturday of October and Friday night prior. Its sister event - the Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival - is conducted in May each Spring.
