Oct. 31 - Trick-or-Treat Around the Square -
Merchants show their concern for young children by having a Trick-or-Treat Around the Square from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Note that the time for this year's event was moved up 30 minutes to make it easier for those wanting to attend both the downtown event and the mid-week church activities at their home church.
Participating merchants give out candy and/or toy treats from the sidewalks or trunks of their vehicles parked around the plaza.
The safe trick-or-treating for children in costume is an alternative to other haunts. In 2011, approximately 1,000 youth from infant through 12 years of age participated. Check the website at www.franklincountytx.com/ |
