Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Mount Vernon High School Homecoming Parade is tenatively set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013. Participants should line up facing south and west, respectively, along Hill St. and Lake St. at 6 p.m. the evening of the parade.  

 The parade will travel Hwy. 67/West Main St. to the plaza, turn north on Houston St., on the east side of the plaza. The band will stop at the northeast corner and continue to play for the crowd. Parade entries with Homecoming Royalty will pause shortly to allow the dutchesses and queen nominees to disembark. Vehicle and other entries will continue west on Dallas St. and either park on the north side of the plaza in front of the Courthouse or in the parking lot north of the courthouse. 

The traditional pep rally will follow the parade on the east side of the square in downtown.
