Scouting for Food Print

Boys and adult volunteers with Mount Vernon Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop #271 will be conducting a door-to-door canned food drive in Mount Vernon. Items collected will go to the Community Food Bank of Franklin County's Christmas for All Food Basket program.

The Scouts will be seeking contributions of non-parishable food items to be included in this years Christmas food baskets for the needy. Contributors are asked to have their box or sack containing their donated items on their front steps and clearly marked "Souting for Food." The group will begin their collections around 9 a.m. with some collection teams making their pick-ups in the afternoon until around 2 p.m.

Location: Throughout the City of Mount Vernon

NOTE: Applications for the Christmas food baskets must be made through the Food Bank, 822 Leftwich St. Completed applications must be returned to the food bank location no later than Tuesday, Dec. 11. The Community FOod Bank is open Tuesda
