| Writers Workshop at CAC |

A writers workshop will be sponsored by the Arts Alliance in conjunction with the Franklin County Library and the Northeast Texas Writers Organization. The free workshop is set for Saturday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 am. to 3:30 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center.Â
Bring a sack lunch or take advantage of a barbecue sandwich lunch and trimmings. The sandwich lunch is offered for a minimum donation of $5.
Five writers in varying genre will offer their experiences and expertise in developing the talents of those interested in writing creatively. Guest speakers include Pattie Ball of Mount Pleasant who writes mysteries and numerous fiction; Gay Ingram of Big Sandy, who focuses on memoirs; James Callan of Winnsboro, who will speak about character development; and Ron and Caryl McAdoo of Clarksville, whose topic is "The Art of Critiquing."
A panel of self publishing authors, Galand Nuchols of Mount Pleasant, and David Dotson and Paul Paris, both of Mount Vernon, will be available to provide information on the process and pitfalls of publishing books.
