Dulcimer Workshop & Concert Print

The Franklin County Arts Alliance will be host for a dulcimer workshop and concert is Thursday, Jan. 17. Instructor will be Don Pedi, musician and artist. The paid workshop ($15 per person) will be from 3:30-5 p.m. followed at 7-9 p.m. with a free concert.

The concert will feature old time music that is traditional to the mountains of North Carolina, where Mr. Pedi, a Master Dulcimer player and artist, lives in Madison County. Mr. Pedi's music abounds with clear melody and pureness of spirit, and his "Fiddle Pick" playing style has amazed and delighted audiences all across the United States. He is a popular festival entertainer/workshop leader in many states.

The back to back events will be conducted at the Cultural Arts Center. The center is located at the corner of Rusk and Dallas streets, just one block west of the Courthouse.
