The Franklin County Library has a sweetheart of a deal for patrons from now through Friday, Feb. 15. A fine and lost material "Forgiveness Campaign" allows patrons to return materials, no
Patrons must provide updated account information at the time of forgiveness. Forgiveness will be triggered by one of the following:
- A patron coming to the library to return overdue materials in person or putting the materials in the book-drop (to the right of the door); or
- A request from a patron asking for removal of fees for lost materials.
"The longer the item is overdue the less of a chance we have of getting it back. We hope this ‘Fine Forgiveness Campaign’ will encourage patrons with overdue items to return them without the fear of having to pay fines" Lisa Lawrence, library director, concluded.
According to library records, there are currently 223 items overdue. The total value of overdue materials is $3,455.42. That is up more than $500 from the last time the program was conducted. Fines are not included in the figures.
