Labor Day Rodeo to provide entertainment

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse Labor Day Weekend Rodeo will be Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4 at their arena off  FM 115 in Mount Vernon and promises entertainment for the whole family.

Photography classes for children planned

A pair of children’s photography safari classes have been scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, July 23 and 30. This two part series of classes is for children ages eight to 12.

Pageant both Friday, Saturday

Contestants in the Miss, Junior Miss, and Young Miss divisions of the Miss Mount Vernon Pageant.The 48th annual Miss Mount Vernon Scholarship Pageant has attracted 50 girls seeking claim to six division titles in two nights of competition.
