Bubble Day

BubblesMore than 80 children attended the third annual Bubble Day on the Square on Thursday, July 2. McKayla Doolittle had mastered bubble making and created several large bubbles during the event, which is sponsored each year by the Franklin County Library.

Magic Show Thursday, watermelon Monday

Deryl Miller will be in the First National Bank Century Room at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 9 to present his magic show. Children of all ages are encouraged to attend. Monday deadline to enter 2009 rodeo queen contests

The deadline to register as a contestant in the 2009 Rodeo Queen contests is 7 p.m. Monday, July 6. The organizational meeting for those registered will be conducted at that time.Competition is set for Saturday, Aug. 29. For more information, see the July 2 edition of the Optic-Herald.

Magic show

Deryl Miller will return to the Franklin County Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 9 to present his magic show. Children of all ages are encouraged to attend. The show will be conducted in the Century Room on Kaufman St.

“Bubble Day” Thursday

The third annual “Bubble Day” sponsored by the Franklin County Library and the Friends of the Franklin County Library is Thursday, July 2 at 10 a.m. on the downtown plaza. Kids of all ages are encouraged to attend the event and have fun in the sun blowing bubbles.

Registration open for children’s workshop

Registration is now open for children who want to attend the Franklin County Arts Alliance arts workshop for children. The workshop is set from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday through Friday, July 15, 16 and 17. It will be in the Cultural Arts Center on Rusk Street.
