Arts alliance plans new exhibit opening

The Franklin County Arts Alliance announced plans for the opening of a new art exhibit Thursday, Sept. 9 at Cook Hall in the Cultural Arts Center.

Fall concert details released

Details of the first half of the Mount Vernon Music organization’s 2010-2011 season were released last week. The season will begin with the Music Association’s annual Gala fund-raiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28. The  Austin Lounge Lizards and a silent auction will be featured. A variety of hors d’oeuvres, drinks and sweets will be served by members of the Key Club of Mount Vernon.  See the Aug. 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for a listing of the association’s fall schedule.

Mount Vernon Music plans gale to open 2011 seasion

Farmer’s Market

Farmer’s MarketLaura Seabourne played the harp at the plaza Saturday, July 31. The Farmers Market is open every Saturday on the square in downtown Mount Vernon from 7:30 a.m. until sold out.  The entertainment typically starts at 8:30 a.m.
