Children’s concert set for Monday

The Drummer and His Melody will be presented at 2 p.m. Monday, June 13 at Mount Vernon Music Hall. The performance is part of the Summer Enrichment series through the Franklin County Library.

Nonstop entertainment, food Saturday

Nonstop musical entertainment, food and other activities are planned from noon Saturday until midnight for the Boots, Brew & Barbecue event along Houston St. in downtown Mount Vernon.

The Lannings to perform downtown, Meadowpark

The Lannings will perform two concerts this weekend in Mount Vernon. One will be downtown on Friday night and the other will be at Meadowpark Baptist Church on Saturday night for those who prefer air conditioning.

Cooks, craft vendors sought for B3 day

Artisans, craft vendors and barbecue cooks are invited to Boots, Brew, and Barbeque, which has been rescheduled to May 21. For more information about registering for a booth or as a cook, see the May 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

“Bubble Day” Friday

The 10th annual “Bubble Day” sponsored by the Franklin County Library and the Friends of the Franklin County Library, is at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3 on the downtown plaza.
