Computer classes start Tuesday at library

The second in a series of beginner computing classes at the Franklin County Library will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31. Introduction to computers will be the class topic.

Bugs and Stuff is 4-H program

Kenny Rollings presented the program for the kids “Bugs & Stuff”Kenny Rollings presented the program for the kids “Bugs & Stuff” at their monthly meeting March 17 at the  Franklin County Airport Community Hall.  The program included snakes and spiders in jars and bugs, and moths and butterfly’s on pin boards.

Ricks completes basic training

Air Force Airman Derek C. Ricks has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. He is also 2013 graduate of Mount Vernon High School.

“Book of Luke” production Sunday

Less than 100 tickets remain for the production of the Book of Luke that will be presented Sunday, March 29 at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon.

Circus Monday, purchase advance tickets prior

The Carson and Barnes Circus will be in Mount Vernon Monday, March 30. Advance tickets sold will help fund the Franklin County Child Welfare Board and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse.

The circus is coming to town March 30. This year, the Carson and Barnes Circus will help raise funds for the Franklin County Child Welfare Board and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse.

Cancer survivors sought for Relay for Life event

Organizers for the local Relay for Life event are searching for cancer survivors who live in Franklin County. Cancer survivors will be honored during the event set for Saturday, May 2.

“Book of Luke” production to benefit children’s programs

Matthew Simpson and Meaghan Sullivan will provide a dramatic performance of more than half of the Book of Luke at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 29 at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon.
