Menu set for Chamber banquet

Our Place restaurant has been chosen to cater the annual Franklin County Chamber of Commerce banquet set for Saturday, February 28. They will be preparing a meal of Parmesan crusted chicken with mashed potatoes, steamed brocoli, salad, and cake.

Mardis Gras dance Friday

Downtown Mount Vernon will be the place to be this Friday, February 13 for a lively, good time. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church Ladies Guild will be hosts for a Mardi Gras Dance in the Hill Building on the south side of the square.

Scouting values in its oath, law

Boy Scout Troop 271 includes 18 youth  and 12 adult volunteers.Changes are coming to Boy Scouts of America in its 105th anniversary year as all segments of the program return to the Scout Oath and Scout Law used in the Boy Scout program.
