Motivational scholarship costs rising

With more than $32,000 expended for scholarships in 2013 alone, the Mount Vernon Rotary Club is hoping for exceptional community support for its scholarship fund raising gala.

Angel Trees need to be planted

Angel Trees need to be planted at churches, businesses, and civic organizations for the toy and clothing portion of the Christmas For All program. The trees are for groups of Angels that are being adopted by these groups.

Wing Ding Thing entries open now

Entries are being sought for the third annual Aggie Ring Wing Ding Thing set for Saturday, November 8 at the Trey Deuce. There will be a $50 cash prize awarded for the best chicken wings.

Four public programs will honor veterans of the U.S. Military on or before the traditional Veterans’ Day Tuesday, November 11. All local veterans, their family members and community members are encouraged to attend one or all of the public programs.
