Officers named at annual meeting

Officers were elected for 2014 at the annual meeting of the members of the Alamo Mission Museum last week. “Good Grief” support group to meet January 27

AARP to meet January 28

The Franklin County American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 3703 will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 at the Senior Citizens Center. B.F. Hicks will be speaking about superstitions.

Free dictionaries

Members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club and Rotary Interact distributed English and English - Spanish dictionaries to every third grade student at Mount Vernon Elementary School. Members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club and Rotary Interact distributed English and English - Spanish dictionaries to every third grade student at Mount Vernon Elementary School. The group also distributed dictionaries to third graders at Saltillo ISD.

Lions Club banquet Saturday

The Charter Banquet for the newly formed Mount Vernon Lions Club will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, January 25 at the First United Methodist Church’s Jennings Hall.
