Thanksgiving dinner at Legion Friday

Members of  the American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary for Post 243 will be hosts for a community Thanksgiving Dinner at 6:30 p.m., Friday, November 18 at the post hall on CR SE4265, south off FM 21.

After a potluck meal, historical researcher and genealogist Carol Taylor of Greenville presented a program titled “Soldiers of the Soil.”

Call to avoid delays in blood donation

Area residents are asked to help save lives by giving blood. Time slots are now being reserved for the Carter BloodCare blood drive at the church of Christ from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, November 12.

The Angel Gift portion of the Christmas for All project application deadline is Friday. Interviews are being conducted to help complete applications, which are only available at the interview site in the Family Life Center of the First United Methodist Church.
