The lumber yard had an “Outdoor Power” open house on Saturday, March 28 with discounts on lawn equipment.

Coldwell Banker presents 2014 awards

Steve Wilhite, Pam Swanner, Cristy Orr, Linda Caster  and  David Taylor display award plaques Coldwell Banker Lakehaven, Realtors conducted their annual awards banquet on March 12 in Mount Pleasant. Awards for production for 2014 were presented.

Get prepared for Easter in the Park

Parents should be getting prepared for the annual Easter in the Park event to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4 at Little Creek Park. Over 3,000 eggs will be hidden for children to find.

Lantern release

Approximately 50 lanterns were released from the football field at Mount Vernon ISDApproximately 50 lanterns were released from the football field at Mount Vernon ISD on Monday, March 30. The release was in honor of Andrea Cook and Nicole Barela, both Mount Vernon High School students, who died in a motor vehicle accident the previous week.

Chili cook off, trades day, music planned at Alamo

Members of the Alamo Mission Museum are organizing their seventh annual music festival for Saturday, April 11. Along with music, the museum grounds will also be the place for a chili cook off and a trades day event.
