Anglers headed for State tourney

Members of the five Franklin County High School Bass Fishing teamsFive teams from the Franklin County Bass Fishing team earned the right to advance to the State High School Fishing tournament next month. The teams finished in the top 87 teams at the Regional tournament on May 21 at Lake Sam Rayburn.

Students honored at Rotary Academic Banquet

Rotary Academic Award winnersScholarships totaling almost $114,000 were awarded at the 31st annual Rotary Academic Banquet in the main school cafeteria on Monday, May 16. Food manager course offered here

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be offering a Certified Food Manager Course in Franklin County on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 17-18, in Mount Vernon at the First United Methodist Church.

Third dual language program meeting planned Monday May, 23

A third chance to attend a mandatory meeting for parents interested in enrolling their Kindergarten age children in the Dual Language Two Way program will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 23 in the elementary cafeteria.

MVISD Baccalaureate Services set

The Baccalaureate Service for Mount Vernon High School candidates for graduation will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22 at the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon. The speaker for the event will be J.P. Jobe.
