Reeves on President’s List

Kailtyn ReevesKailtyn Reeves was listed on the President’s List at Texas A&M University - Commerce for the Fall 2014 semester. Miss Reeves is a senior at the university. She is majoring in psychology.

Auringer on Dean’s List

Alyssa AuringerAlyssa Auringer was listed on the Dean’s List at Trinity Valley Community College for the Fall 2014 semester with a 4.0 grade point average. Miss Auringer is a sophomore at the college.

James inducted into Eta Zeta Chapter

Katelyn JamesKatelyn James was recently inducted into the Eta Zeta Chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi at Texas State University. She is a senior at TSU and plans to become a biology and anatomy teacher and to coach volleyball.

Mandatory broiler meeting called

A Mount Vernon - Saltillo Project Show meeting for broiler participants will be Monday, January 12 at 6 p.m. in the Mount Vernon High School Ag Building or at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13 in the Saltillo Ag Building.

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College will offer free General Education Development (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations beginning in January.

Fifth graders cooking meal for science camp trip

Parents and students of the fifth grade class at Mount Vernon Intermediate School have planned a dinner and auction to raise funds to attend science camp at Sky Ranch next Spring.
