The artistic works of Lorelle Bacon of Tyler will be among those of 18 featured artists at the 2009 April Arts events Friday afternoon and Saturday, April 17 and 18. The show is open from 1-6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17 and 18.
Pottery experts will be at the Old Depot Museum between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. Five to six of the states’ top dozen experts on Texas made pottery will be available to give free evaluations of pottery items during Cypress SpringFest. Members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club, David and Josephi Jackson will be hosts for the barbecue, which will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17. Franklin County emergency workers and their families will be honored with a cookout the evening before the Cypress SpringFest and Tour de Cypress Bike Race on Saturday, April 18.
