The annual Easter in the Park sponsored by the Franklin County Student Chamber of Commerce is set for Saturday, April 11 at Tiger Stadium.

Franklin County’s National Day of Prayer Task Force has set an organizational meeting for table captains for Thursday, April 2 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sweete Shoppe. All table captains and those interested in being a host for a table are encouraged to attend to receive event information and tickets. The Friends of the Franklin County Library will be the sponsor for a program by HawkQuest at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 1 in the Intermediate Gym behind Mount Vernon ISD.
Kin Quitugua, a master falconer and long time environmental educator, will present the program and fly various birds ranging from eagles, hawks, owls, and falcons. For more information, see the March 26 edition of the Optic-Herald.
