The public is invited to a reception and exhibit opening from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 30 in the main gallery of the Old Jail Art Museum. Featured in the new exhibit are 22 pieces created by eight members of the members of the Southwest Watercolor Society.
They were produced as a result of the group’s visit to Mount Vernon earlier this Spring. The pieces are displayed in varied sizes and mats featuring Mount Vernon scenes. These one-of-a-kind pieces of art are available for purchase. The Old Jail Art Museum is located in the historic 1912 jail, just north of the Franklin County Courthouse at 202 N. Kaufman St.
