Charles Shafer, a 1960 Mount Vernon High School graduate, was at the Mount Vernon Library on Dec. 5 to talk about his audio book, The View from the Chinaberry Tree.   The audiobook features the author reading his stories about growing up in Winfield in the 1940’s and 50’s.
