Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Al Moore was awarded first place in the 2010 April Arts competition. The wood and Austin limestone sculpture called “Ancient Vessel.”   He “married” the upper wooden bowl from the heart of a magnolia tree to the lime stone in a seemingly seamless  arms of the piece. The sculpture was set on a high gloss stained wooden  base. The juried show was conducted in conjunction with the event’s two-day show and sale as part of Cypress SpringFest.
