The second annual “Scare on the Square” in downtown Mount Vernon will open at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 in the old “Dollar General” building on Holbrook St. at its West Main St. intersection. It will remain open until 11 p.m. The haunted house will also be open Sunday, Oct. 23 and Oct. 29-31. The attraction is free to the public.
