Tenor Elias Traverse and soprano Shelly Irving lifted the day’s rain clouds with their classic songs from Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Rodgers and Hammerstein, among the many. Their bit of playful stage presence added to the enjoyment of love songs and opera scattered among the tunes. About 60 were on hand for the event at the Mount Vernon Music Hall Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20. The vocalists were accompanied by Steven Harlos, keyboardist for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
