Mix bikes, art, history and good food and you have Cypress SpringFest, a spring weekend in Franklin County unlike anything in Texas. The event-packed weekend of April 17-18 has something for almost every taste. The Fifth Annual Tour de Cypress Bike Race and Tour of Mount Vernon is being sponsored by the Mount Vernon Rotary Club to benefit international and club charities. The date coordinates with “April Arts,” sponsored by the Franklin County Arts Alliance, and the annual Key Club Bake-Off. See the March 26 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
