Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

A fish fry fund-raiser is set from  9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16 to collect funds for the Black Onyx Club Scholarships for Mount Vernon youth. Club members will prepare a meal of fresh fried catfish, hush puppies and French fries on the parking lot at Brookshire’s Food Store in Mount Vernon.  A donation of $7 or more per plate is asked.
