Parents should be getting prepared for the annual Easter in the Park event to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 3 at Don Meredith Stadium in Mount Vernon.

The “Economic History of Franklin County”  was the subject of the March 15 meeting of the Franklin County Genealogical Society.

The Mount Vernon Key Club will be sponsoring its seventh annual Bake-off on Saturday, April 17.  The event will be conducted at the Senior Citizen Meal Center at 108 Taylor St. in Mount Vernon.

The 2010 Friends of Scouting campaign is underway in Franklin County, according to Jordan Ramsay, campaign chairman for the Boy Scouts of America.
