Tickets for the annual Rotary Bingo for Scholarships are are now available, according to Rotary president Ann Holland. Due to limited seating, only 415 tickets will be sold to the Saturday, Feb. 27 event.

The annual Blue and Gold  banquet for Mount Vernon Cub Scout Pack 271 is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 in the Family Life Center of First United Methodist Church. The banquet is open for  registered pack members, families and special invited guests.

Aquatic engineer Terry Brannon from Tyler will make a presentation on swimming pool design options. His presentation will be made to the Mount Vernon Parks Committee

The first of two hearings for public input on funding continued development of the Franklin County Sports Complex is tonight. The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 in the courtroom of the Courthouse Annex. For more information, see the Feb. 18 edition of the Optic-Herald.
