The Christmas For All Toy program is helping 129 Franklin County families with 362 children have a brighter 2009 holiday season.
The Alan Screws family has their “Christmasland - the North Pole of Texas” display for the 2009 holiday season open to the public again this year. This is the 13th year for the display, which offers train rides, hot chocolate and more than 90,000 lights in addition to an animated Santa’s Toy Shop, and paddle-boat elves.

More than 40 people attended the showing the movie Prancer sponsored by the Friends of the Franklin County Library on Saturday, Dec. 5

Warren Williamson, formerly of Mount Vernon, participated in the Guns and Hoses Foundation boxing tournament at Resistol Arena in Mesquite on Nov. 7.
The American Association of Retired Persons will have their December meeting and Christmas Carol singing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15 at the Senior Meal Center at 208 Taylor St., one block west of the Courthouse.
