Daniel Ciraiz, Jacob Marquez, and Chris Servin were quick to review the dictionaries they received from the Mount Vernon Rotary Club on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Mount Vernon Elementary School. Each year, the local Rotary Club gives third grade students at Mount Vernon Elementary an English dictionary and a English to Spanish dictionary.
Members and guests of the Homemakers Extension Education Club will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center. Extension Agent Lou Ann Rollins will share information on “Standing on Your Own-Osteoporosis.” The community is encouraged to attend the event. Approximately 30 people attended the All Souls Day ceremony at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 2.

Rotary Club 1878 honored seven individuals as Paul Harris Fellows during their meeting on Friday, Oct. 30. With the addition of these individuals, there are now 120 Paul Harris Fellowships that have been awarded through the local club.
