Brooke Molteni, age 17 months, picks a pumpkin more her size from a collection of very large pumpkins at the Christenberry Pumpkin Patch on Sunday, Oct. 18. The pumpkin patch is located in Saltillo and is owned by Danny and Lynn Christenberry.

A training on preservation work is planned from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 in the Mount Vernon City Hall. The workshop is open to the public. Marilyn Elbert will present the program for the 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 meeting of the American Association of Retired Persons group at the Senior Citizen Meal Center at 208 Taylor St. in Mount Vernon.

More than 90 kids attended the Fields of Faith event in the school auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 14. The event was relocated from Tiger Stadium due to rain. Many students shared testimonies and scriptures were read. For more information see the Oct. 22 edition of the Optic-Herald.
