The Supper Quilt was on display at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center on Saturday, Oct. 10 during CountryFest activities. The quilt was made by Dr. Don Locke, D. D. S. and his wife, Mariyln of Waxahachie.
A peoples choice costume contest will be included with the fourth annual Halloween Party and Hayride Saturday, Oct. 24. The event is sponsored by the Alamo Mission Museum, See the Oct. 15 edition of the Optic-Herald for more details.

Edward and Mary McAllister of Winnsboro will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 17. The couple was married Oct. 14, 1939 in Perryville, Tex. For more information see the Oct. 15 edition of the Optic-Herald.

Kelly Baird, at right, of Mount Vernon won the Best of Show and the Mount Vernon “Spark” Award at the 12th Annual CountryFest Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 10. The entry also took first place in the 1950 and up division of the Modified Class for pickups.
