The Mount Vernon CountryFest Car Show is planned from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. The deadline for vendor booth registration is approaching for the 35th annual CountryFest celebration. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star filled plates with fish and fixings. The Franklin County United Way received $3,300 in donations at their 10th annual all-you-can-eat fish fry dinner on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Masonic Lodge.

The Hispanic Community of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will conduct their annual Rodeo Saturday, Sept. 19. Funds raised will go to the fund to construct a new rectory - priest’s house.
