Melvin Brown, a recent amputee, watches from the doorway of his home as members of the youth group from the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon work to build a wheelchair ramp at his residence on Carthel St. The youth worked on Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6 under the supervision of youth minister Aric Davis, Tracy and Cindy Arnett, and summer intern Tracey Becket. Those participating were Austin Arnett, Brandon Biard, Kolby Caraway, Nicole Eagan, Brittany Johnson, Josh Johnson, Jonathan Ladd, Chris Pearce, Caleb Philips, Macie Rains, and Abby Stone.
