A near sell out crowd is expected for the 41st annual Miss Mount Vernon Scholarship Pageant. The pageant is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 in the Mount Vernon School Auditorium.Forty-nine contestants will be competing for six titles in this year’s pageant. Stephanie Thompson, Taylor Smith, Baily Hunnicutt, and Ashley Stahle are contestants seeking the title of Miss Mount Vernon 2009. For more information, see the Aug. 20 edition of the Optic-Herald.
