The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce 24th annual CountryFest Stew Cook-off is set for Saturday, Oct. 10 on the grounds southwest of the Old Depot Museum. The Chamber is seeking cooking teams to enter the event. The entry fee of $50 must be turned in no later than 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5. Entry forms are available at the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce office or by calling the Chamber at 903-537-4365.
