Charles Shafer kept the 55 members of the Franklin County Historical Association laughing with stories from his youth. Mr. Shafer was guest speaker for the September meeting and covered dish dinner. His stories were from among those featured in his book his book The View from the Chinaberry Tree.  Members pressed him for a repeat visit on the topic of   “Folk-Speak” next year
