Judge William Benton “Bill” Meek, Melba Meek, Minnie Laughton Birdsong, Jack D. Henry, Mary Nell Mince Henry Jennings, and Charles Lowry will be inducted into the Mount Vernon School District’s League of Honor during a special ceremony at halftime of the Mount Vernon vs. Mineola football game on Friday, Sept. 25. Judge William Benton “Bill” Meek, Melba Meek, and Minnie Laughton Birdsong were featured in the Sept. 24 edition of the Optic-Herald. Jack D. Henry, Mary Nell Mince Henry Jennings, and Charles Lowry were featured in the Sept. 17 edition of the Optic-Herald.
