Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Local Constable Randy Green, American Legion Commander Charles O’Neal, and Jerry Hammond with JH3 Contruction in Mount Vernon were recently honored for their efforts in helping a military family in Shreveport, La. The individuals received certificates of appreciation and a Commanders Pin of Excellence for their donation of approximatly $500 to the family of Staff Sergeant Jason Sandlin of Princeton, La., lost his two month old daughter on Dec. 4, 2009.
