Flu clinic extended through Friday

The H1N1 flu vaccine clinic, which was originally scheduled to close last week, is being extended through Friday, Jan. 8, 2010. The clinic’s hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. week days. Vaccine to help reduce the effects of the H1N1 flu virus is available for free at the local clinic being conducted by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS), Region 4/5 North.
The clinic is now open to all persons, not just local residents and not just previously targeted “high risk” groups, emphasized Joyce Vanganualt, TDSHS liaison for clinics in Franklin, Titus and Delta counties.
The local clinic is being conducted at the 502 E. Main St., east of downtown Mount Vernon. The clinic is in the former Texas Department of Human Services / Department of Transportation building. The building is located next to the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.
At this posting, more than 500 individuals had taken advantage of the free clinic.  No appointment is required
