Emergency personnel attending the April 16 Heroes Barbecue will be eligible for a variety of door prizes this year.
Franklin County emergency workers and their families will be honored with a cookout the evening before the Cypress SpringFest and Tour de Cypress Bike Race.
Members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club will be hosts for the barbecue, which will begin at 6 p.m. The barbecue will be at the Franklin County Airport Community Hall on CR NE1030.
“We want to show our appreciation to these volunteers that help to keep our bike racers safe as they travel through our county,” Rotary President Ann Holland said. For more information, see the April 1 edition of the Optic-Herald.
