Mount Vernon photos from the first quarter of the 20th century are needed to complete the centennial “slide show” presentation. The presentation debuts at the May 29 celebration of the City of Mount Vernon’s 100th charter year.
Organizers are looking for photos of old buildings no longer in existence. Interior shots of those buildings as well as those still in existence are sought. Special community event photos and those of community life are needed. Those who may have photos not previously published who would like to have them scanned for possible inclusion in the celebration presentation should drop the photos off at the Optic-Herald before Friday, May 14. An information sheet about the subject of the photo, year it was taken, and who contributed it should be completed on each photo.
