Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Festival of the Sacred Heart is set for Saturday, June 12. The events replace the local celebration of Cinco de Mayo at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and honors the feast day for which the church is named. The festivities feature traditional ethnic foods, games for all ages and dancing. Hay rides, a bounce house for kids and a flea market will be offered this year.
