The annual firework fund-raiser for the Cypress Springs Lion’s Club will begin at noon Saturday, June 26 and will continue through Sunday, July 4, Independence Day.
This year, there will be two firework stands open for the organization. The first stand will be located at Prosperity Bank at the intersection of Hwy. 37 and the south access road. The second stand will be located across from Vinyard’s Food Store and the entrance to the King’s Country Development, on FM 115, about one mile north of the Lake Cypress Springs bridge. Hours of operation for the stand will vary daily. Sales will continue until customers stop buying each day. All proceeds from the fireworks stand will benefit the various charities the organization supports. See the June 24 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for information.
