Brooklyn Ortiz shows off Myrtle the turtle at the 2009 Turtle Derby. The fourth annual event is planned for Saturday, July 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Alamo Mission Museum. Events are planned for children of all ages, but the highlight will be the turtle derby.
“Everyone needs to locate a turtle to enter in the race,” AMM president Jacque Bateman said. “Turtles seem to be in short supply this year. We will have a few available for adoption.”
